sign, it was likely Rakak had a perfectly usable teleport pad somewhere. Judging by the actual state of said sign, it was unlikely he had many visitors using it. It was unlikely he even used it, frankly.

They found it hidden away behind a wall of hanging vines, a stone slab with peculiar etched patterns decorating its edges. The pad looked muddy, and a bit decrepit. Its corner was cracked.

“I suppose he doesn’t get visitors often,” FPS mused with a rare frown.

“If he uses this at all, it’d be for deliveries I reckon,” Tora shrugged. What else would you use it for? The asura likely had other more useful teleports of a kind in his lab. There was no real reason to come down to the ground—any convenient market or service for daily living was miles away in literally any direction.

The shitty upkeep was a concern though. FPS and Tora huddled over the slab, prodding it cautiously. Did it even still work?

“M’lady? I’m afraid I have little experience with asuran technology,” FPS said.

“Same.“ Tora frowned, grumbled. He’d seen only a few teleport pads before and only in passing. Dwag had been the one to even tell him what they did, but they were rarely used on account of how expensive they were. He’d never actually used one himself—how was he to know how they worked?

Tora paced around the pad’s perimeter. It was moderately sized—enough for a party of three or so to stand on. “Maybe we stand on it?”

They did. It lit up, and hummed.

“Oh,” said Tora.

“Ah,” said FPS.

Guess it was that easy.

The teleport pad got brighter. It hummed louder.

The world blinked.
