Bolli’s theoretical time freezing device made not-so-theoretical: a sleek metal golem with veins of magic carved across its exterior and fed with the wires from above. It was stuck mid-burst, an overflow of time magic blasting out from its shell in striking rays of purple.
A closer look revealed some kind of blaster attached to each of the golem’s arms. It wasn’t just a recreation of Bolli’s time freezing device, it was a modification of it into a time freezing weapon—one that failed. Tora glanced to the lab rats trapped forever shielding their eyes in front of the golem—one that very much failed.
“Fuck me” Tora whispered one last time. “I really shoulda asked fer more gold upfront.”
